The Atmananda Yoga Sequence is a modern vinyasa style practice that is rooted in traditional disciplines. The Atmananda Yoga Sequence created in 1994 by Founder Jhon Tamayo with the intention for students to better connect to their body and breathe, allowing individuals to own their personal practice, reaching a moment of inner stillness any place, any time. After having graduated over 2,000 + students and with the desire to help his students maintain a safe and consistent practice, Jhon T. became inspired to design the revolutionary Atmananda Yoga Mat ™, transforming how yogis around the world achieve their perfect pose. The Atmananda Yoga Sequence is globally recognized and has been taught internationally across the globe from Japan, Dubai, China, Germany, Sweden, Colombia, and the United States. Jhon T. with his enigmatic presence and dynamic teaching style offers a once in a lifetime experience for each individual to awaken towards their inner truth. The Atmananda Yoga Sequence mission is dedicated to inspire individual growth, embracing our unique qualities and building self-empowerment towards knowing our inner teacher within. Our on-going immersion programs for 200 Hr and 300 Hr Teacher Training are taught at our New York City HQ, E. 23rd Location and South Beach, Miami. We look forward to welcoming you to our community in our various locations.
Through awareness of the breath and attention to proper alignment within our con-sistent practice, our bodies will begin to safely open hence an internal shift gracefully takes over in quieting our minds. These combined groups of asanas energetically work to open the different chakras points within our body allowing personal break-throughs to naturally take place.
The Atmananda Yoga Sequence is the body of knowledge, experienced through Hatha Yoga, Iyengar Yoga and Ashtanga Yoga, combined to create a Vinyasa flow. The sequence is composed of the seven groups of asanas, including:
- Standing Poses
- Balancing Poses
- Forward Bends
- Backbends
- Inversions
- Spinal Twists
- Seated Poses
